Terra Madre 2006 US Academic Delegate Network
Terra Madre 2006 brought together the first international delegation of Academics working on food and sustainability issues. The event inspired a new framework for discourse, one where ideas, strategies, partnerships and alliances prosper. With this legacy in mind, Slow Food USA is Bringing Terra Madre Home by creating an online networking resource for the U.S. Academic Delegates. Listed below by state and by school are the faculty and staff who attended Terra Madre 2006. As representatives of departments, programs, and schools involved in research and projects working in defense of sustainable food production, these delegates are seeking broader and deeper understanding of our food system. Through promotional and educational activities, event organization and exchanges, they support small-scale socially and ecologically sustainable quality food production and defend the right to self-determination in the food sector.
