Why should I become a member of Slow Food USA?
To join a grassroots movement of people like you who believe in a world where everyone can enjoy food that is good for them, good for the people who grow it and good for the planet. As a member of Slow Food USA you will have opportunities to connect, get informed and engage with the Slow Food community.

A contribution of $25 or more makes you a member of Slow Food USA. A contribution of $60 or more also gives you electronic access to the Slow Food USA member discount program, with special promotional offers from companies that share Slow Food USA?s mission. We encourage new members to give what they can afford to help us make the movement accessible to everyone.

What does my membership contribution support?
Your Slow Food USA membership contribution supports national advocacy initiatives like improving the Child Nutrition Act, strategic grants to support local projects, infrastructure to support local chapters that improves membership lists, and leadership trainings for chapter leaders.
What happens when I join Slow Food USA as a member?
When you join Slow Food USA as a member, you will receive a welcome email and tax acknowledgment letter containing your membership details. You will be added to the Slow Food USA email list and you?ll be assigned to the local Slow Food USA chapter of your choice. You?ll also receive a membership card within 10-12 weeks of joining.

You?ll receive a Slow Food USA membership card within 10-12 weeks of joining.
How will I know when my membership expires?
The welcome email that we send contains your membership number and membership expiration date. You may contact our office at any time to inquire about your membership status. We also send out renewal reminders via email one month before and one month after your membership expires.
Can I sign up for a dual membership?
A contribution of $25 or more makes you an individual member of Slow Food USA. Dual memberships are no longer offered.
I am a student or farmer. How much does it cost to become a member of Slow Food USA?
A contribution of $25 or more makes you an individual member of Slow Food USA. Student and farmer memberships are no longer offered.
Are my membership dues tax deductible?
Yes, your membership dues are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law. Please contact email@example.com to receive a duplicate copy of your enrollment acknowledgment; the enrollment acknowledgment can be used for tax purposes.
How will my chapter know that I've joined/renewed?
Your local chapter will be notified that you have joined or renewed with SFUSA and are part of their chapter.
Can I receive email updates from two chapters?
Yes, please select two chapters upon joining or renewing your membership, or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I am currently a member of Slow Food USA. I joined with a contribution of $60 or more. What new benefits will I receive?
You will also be able to opt-in to receive special offers from companies and partners that share Slow Food USA?s values for the duration of your current membership.
What happens to my dual membership?
Your membership will be converted to two individual membership. Both dual members will also be able to opt-in to receive special offers from companies and partners that share Slow Food USA?s values for the duration of your current membership.
What happened to The Snail? What about The Slow Food Almanac?
Those publications have been retired as we work to expand and improve our ability to share stories from the movement. Rather than sending you The Snail, we will give you access exclusive online and offline content. You can expect information about important national and international food issues and updates with the latest food news as well as opportunities to communicate with leaders in the food movement.

Can I become a corporate member?
We do not offer corporate or group memberships. Your company representatives are welcome to join as individuals. There are also many ways that companies, organizations and restaurants can get involved locally, nationally and internationally to support the Slow Food USA mission.
How can I donate to Slow Food?
You can write a check, made out to Slow Food USA, and send it to us with a note. We will send you an acknowledgment letter for your tax records.
I live outside the U.S. Can I join Slow Food USA?
Our members live in the United States and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Members outside of this area can join Slow Food at slowfood.com and pick their country of residence. If you live outside the U.S. but would like to receive Slow Food USA emails, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
