Slow Food Santa Fe Food System Series: Food Security, Food Justice and Food Sovereignty

September 17, 2021, 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm MDT

The 4th panel discussion in Slow Food Santa’s Food System series addresses food security, food justice and food sovereignty and will be led by A-dae Romero-Briones, Director of Programs for Native Agriculture and Food Systems (Cochiti/Kiowa) First Nations Development Institute. New Mexico is one of the most food-insecure states in the country, and the COVID-19 pandemic has made this situation worse. We’ll take a look at this problem and talk about what can and should be done for people who have trouble obtaining enough nourishing food to eat. We’ll also talk about the growing food sovereignty movement, driven in large part by indigenous communities. This webinar is free but you must register in advance to receive information on how to join,
