Chapter Agreement and Policies

Chapter Board Members Agreement
I agree to manage the Slow Food chapter in accordance with the National Statute an all other guidelines provided by Slow Food USA. The Slow Food chapter seeks to create dramatic and lasting change in the food system. We reconnect Americans with the people, traditions, plants, animals, fertile soils and waters that produce our food. We work to inspire a transformation in food policy, production practices and market forces so that they ensure equity, sustainability and pleasure in the food we eat.
Chapter Policy Agreement: Logo, Member List, and Conflict of Interest
Use of membership lists and email practices

Your chapter’s membership list may be used solely for Slow Food Chapter purposes.  Use of the membership list for personal or business purposes is strictly forbidden.  When an outside source approaches you about a promotion, it’s at your discretion whether to do the promotion through your email newsletters or web site. Please do not abuse your members’ privacy.

Use of name and logo

The names “Slow Food USA” and “Slow Food” are both registered trademarks that derive protection from those laws. Your chapter is authorized to use the words “Slow Food” as part of your chapter name and in your printed and online materials to promote Slow Food’s mission and programs. Slow Food USA chapters should only use the logo issues by the national office. The chapter name should never be separated from the snail image. If possible, you should avoid using the image of the snail on its own. In the case that a chapter wishes to use the “Slow Food USA” logo and name independent of the chapter logo and name, special authorization must be obtained from the Slow Food USA national office. Use of the name for personal or business purposes is strictly forbidden. The right to use the name – and the logo and name – is a revocable license and as such can be revoked by Slow Food USA at any time.

Conflicts of interest

On the following pages, you can read the Conflict of Interest Policy that all chapter leaders must abide. The purpose of the conflict of interest policy is to protect the interest of your chapter when it is contemplating entering into a transaction or arrangement that might benefit the private interest of a chapter board member.

On behalf of the leadership team of my chapter, I agree that the chapter will abide by the logo use, membership list, and conflict of interest policies.
