Slow Fish 2021 + Slow Food Northeast Gathering

March 18-21, 2021 | New Hampshire

Slow Fish Crew Together Webinar Series

March 20, 2020 | 1pm EST

This first webinar will feature an Indigenous welcome, stories from young and indigenous fish harvesters from around North America, and perspective from Blue Commons thought leaders.
This will be an interactive discussion. We’ll feature a variety of viewpoints, a fisher poetry reading, as well as some thoughts on the budding collaboration between Slow Fish North America and Slow Food USA. And we’ll hear a message from Congresswoman Chellie Pingree of Maine, who has sponsored legislation to protect working waterfronts. Join us in adaptation, collaboration and celebration around topics that matter to us all.

Adaptation is core to the growing Slow Fish network around North America. At Slow Fish 2016 in New Orleans: floods. Prior to Slow Fish 2018: wildfires. And Slow Fish 2020 in New Hampshire: a pandemic that forced us to postpone the event a year.

At every turn, we found a way to adapt, unite, and generate tons of positive energy toward good, clean, and fair seafood. We shared stories, explored different solutions and celebrated!

Slow Fish 2020 is no different. We’ve balled up all of the energy generated in the build-up to the event in New Hampshire and are packaging it in a webinar series that begins on March 20 at 1 p.m. EST.

After careful consideration and discussion with partners, we have decided to bottle up the great energy of Slow Fish + Slow Food Northeast Gathering 2020 and carry it over to 2021 —
same time, same place.
