Our legislative priorities are solidly rooted in our commitment to Good, Clean, and Fair Food for All, and inspired by the work of more than a dozen like-minded and allied organizations including, the National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition (NSAC), the Food Research and Action Center (FRAC), the National Young Farmers Coalition, the American Farmland Trust (AFT), and the Native Farm Bill Coalition.

Slow Food USA called for the 2018 Farm Bill to support:

  • A Level “Plowing” Field: fair treatment for small and mid-scale farmers, particularly beginning, socially disadvantaged, and veteran farmers;
  • Food for the Future: conservation of our agricultural land and water resources and ensuring the success of our next generation of farmers.

Cross-cutting these priorities is the imperative of advancing equity, inclusion, and justice throughout the food chain.

Slow Food USA believes that food is an essential element of civil society and our common table.
