Buck Jones, the Salmon Marketing Specialist at the Columbia River Inter-Tribal Fish Commission, welcomed the audience into the weekend with his keynote speech. In introduction of what he would go into in more depth, he spoke of the relationships being built to protect tribal fishing rights. For him, and for many others this weekend, these systems are not really about feeding ourselves today, but rather feeding our children and grandchildren.
