Time to spill the beans on a festive fall affair we’ve been stirring up!
Join Slow Food East Bay, @hammerlingwines, @donkeyandgoat for our Fall 2022 Bean Feed, an afternoon of good eats, good wine and good fun, all centered on BEANS!
We’re shutting down 5th Street between Camellia and Gilman for the afternoon of Sunday, November 13th from 1pm-4pm in order to explore the world of heirloom beans through the cultural food lens of six East Bay chefs
– Carlo Espinas of The Lede
– Rocky Yazzie of @rockys_frybread
– Dani of @sin_tu_carino
– Sital of @thathausavegan
– Enrique & Jazmin of Cocina Del Corazon Oakland
– Henry of @oramasamadumplings
We’re excited to see what they’ll do with these six beans featured in Slow Food USA‘s 2022 Plant A Seed kit: Santa Maria Pinquito, Rockwell, Four Corners Gold, Cherokee Trail of Tears, Arikara Yellow and Hank’s Xtra Special Baking Bean.
There will be bean trivia, bean bag tosses and opportunities to speak with representatives from seed saving and exchange organizations and community gardens and urban farms and community organizations.
And all of this while sipping on delicious glasses of vino
