The weekend of May 15-17th, 2020, Slow Food will host a regional gathering of producers, chefs, students and eaters in the historic city of Charleston, South Carolina. The weekend will be packed with exciting events, and will feature a welcome reception on Friday, followed by a dine- around in some of Charleston’s Slowest restaurants.
On Saturday morning, there will be a conference, with an opportunity for Slow Food members and leaders to learn from one another and to strategize our future together. In the afternoon, there will be a culinary walking tour of downtown Charleston, featuring a milling demonstration and local bites at Slow restaurants.
Early Saturday evening there will be a VIP meet and greet with a famous food TV celebrity and cookbook author. Then, we will gather for a Slow Soul Supper at the Medical University of South Carolina Urban Farm. Fabulous and famous Slow chefs from all over the SE will be preparing the dinner!!
After the dinner, there will be an after party designed to mix and mingle with the chefs who prepare the meal.
Sunday will feature an Ark of Taste brunch, followed by an afternoon of rural fish and farm tours. Tickets for this wonderful gathering will go on sale March 1st.
